Ayumi Hamasaki (浜崎あゆみ) born in October 2, 1978, is a Japanese pop singer. She is one of the most popular and influential Japanese pop singers in Japanese music history, and is dubbed “The Empress of Pop”.

Since her debut in 1998 with her first single, poker face, she has sold more than 50 million records, with the releases of her 8 full-length studio albums, 1 mini-album, 4 compilation albums, 40 singles, and several non-studio albums, she is now the top selling solo and female singer in Japanese music history.
